Athletic Training

As an athletic training student at William Woods University, you will study the prevention and care of athletic injuries, exercise physiology, kinesiology, orthopedic and non-orthopedic assessment, therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, nutrition, personal health, human anatomy, human physiology, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and general psychology. Students follow a prescribed four-year plan that prepares them to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam. The ATP has a competitive admissions process, with selection based upon meeting the requirements set forth by the program. The admission standards and requirements may be viewed by clicking on the Prospective Students link below, or they may be provided by ATP upon request.

Over the last 3 years there have been 10 students attempted the BOC examination.  Of those 10, 7 (70%) passed on the first attempt.  The overall BOC pass rate for the last 3 years is 8 out of 10 (80%).

Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training comprises 56 credits. This degree does not require a minor.
