Health Reference Center Academic-- Multi-source database providing access to full-text of nursing and allied health journals, plus a wide variety of personal health iinformation sources that offer reliable health information to researchers, including nursing and allied health students.

Health and Wellness Resource Center-- Includes nearly 400 health/medical journals, hundreds of pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos from partner Healthology, Inc., and articles from 2,200 general iinterest publications in addition to a broad collection of Gale reference titles.

Medline -- very comprehensive, but can be very technical.

MedlinePlus (National Institutes of Health)-- MedlinePlus has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on over 800 diseases and conditions. There are directories, a medical encyclopedia and a medical dictionary, easy-to-understand tutorials on common conditions, tests, and treatments, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials.

To access the library sponsored databases,

  • Click on the name of the database you want to search.
  • The next screen should ask you for your username and password.  If nothing displays, adjust your computer’s security settings to a lower setting and try again.
  • Use your network username and password to log on (note: this is different from your Owlnet username and password).  If you are a Graduate and Adult Studies student, you should have been given information on how to access the databases.  If you have any questions or problems, contact the Reference Librarian .
