The Decatur Park District is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to manage its Big Creek Riding Center.  Centrally located in the heart of the Midwest, Big Creek Riding Center is situated on 110 acres on the south side of Decatur Illinois and features horse boarding (50+stalls) and indoor/outdoor show facilities as well as picturesque wooded riding trails.  Qualified applicants should have extensive experience and/or education in the equestrian field as well as a strong business background and excellent customer service skills.  Salary DOQ, EOE.

In January 2009, MO-AG will award three (3) $1,500 Jim Russell Foundation scholarships. The scholarship recipients will be individuals who are currently attending a Missouri institution of higher education and majoring in a field related to agriculture. College sophomores through college seniors are eligible to apply for these awards. To apply, submit a completed scholarship application, a complete transcript and two letters of recommendation. Applications, transcripts and recommendation letters must be postmarked by October 1, 2008, to be considered for this year’s award.

Horses for Healing, a NARHA Premier Center in Bentonville, Arkansas is looking for an individual with strong Hunter/Jumper riding and teaching skills to lead a growing Sports Riding Program where special needs riders are mainstreamed with their able-bodied peers in lessons, camps, and horse shows. North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) Instructor Certification is preferred by not required. Horses for Healing will help the right candidated obtain instructor certification.

Helping Hands Therapeutic Riding Center in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a full-time Barn Manager/Therapeutic Riding Instructor beginning May 2009 or can begin earlier in January 2009. We are looking for an independent and responsible candidate that is looking to grow within the therapeutic riding industry. Job description includes management of trainers, barn staff and barn volunteers, equine management, training and instruction.
