A private barn located in Georgetown, KY is searching for Hunter/Jumper training assistant. Now interviewing -- Position available immediately; could be summer job or long term employment for a dedicated young professional. This position is designed as working student – duties include: feed, clean stalls, groom, turn-out, bathe, clean tack, lunge, set jumps for trainer, leg care & bandaging, and a variety of miscellaneous duties related to the horse industry. Limited riding may develop into more depending upon individual skills and desires. Employee should be geared toward becoming assistant trainer and competent to teach students when I am away. Employee must also have the desire and work ethics to want to be a professional rider, teacher, and trainer.  Housing will be provided at my home in Georgetown, KY [no pets] or a camper at the farm. A camper or hotel will be provided for time in Tennessee or other Horse Show venues. Approximately 50% of the time will be spent out of town, so employee should be available and prepared to travel.

Skelton Mountain Dream Ranch, LLC, (SMDR) has two openings for 2009 Summer Interns, who desire to be horse trainers in the future, at our ranch located 22 miles west of Fort Collins, Colorado. These positions are for a 10 to 12 week commitment offering room and board on the ranch as well as working 90% + of the time with our noted Dressage Trainer, Instructor and Rider, Mrs. Christa Elaine Wood.  Interns will work with all ages and sexes of horses. They will have a three year old to start under saddle.  Additionally, they will get regular Dressage riding lessons and also help with foal watch for some of our coming foals.
