Each of the sessions scheduled for the 2008 William Woods Summer Riding Program will be able to accommodate the beginner to the advanced rider. Participants choose to take lessons in hunt seat, saddle seat or western. Each session will also include demonstrations and discussions on horse health, anatomy, nutrition, conformation and the responsibilities of horse ownership.
All of the horse-related activities take place in the William Woods Equestrian Complex, which is located on the campus. It includes six barns, two large indoor riding arenas and an outdoor ring. Also available to the Summer Riding Program is an equestrian classroom located in the stable area. It is spacious, air-conditioned and has a large-screen TV with VCR/DVD viewing capabilities.
