Thank you for your interest in William Woods University’s 2008 Summer Riding Program!
2008 is the sixteenth year for the William Woods Summer Riding Program. Thefirst year, in 1992, there was a single one-week session, for ages fourteen through adult, which attracted 15 riders from nine different states. Each successive year the program has grown. Last summer we had over 100 riders from 15 states over the course of the summer.
Because of the limited space available, riders are urged to send in their applications with deposit as soon as possible. (The deposit is partially refundable, if plans change.) Putting a limit to the number of participant insures the best ratio of students to instructors.
Riding lessons are scheduled for once or twice a day. During Session I and II the usual format will be one riding lesson in the morning and a second lesson after dinner. On days where special activities or off-campus excursions have been planned, students will ride longer once a day rather than twice. This gives us more flexibility to plan the week. Lessons in hunt seat, saddle seat or western for both sessions. Each session will have opportunities for the beginning to the advanced rider.
The dates for this summer’s sessions have been set for:
- Session I July 6 – 11 Riders 14 – 17 years of age
- Session II July 13-18 Riders 10 – 13 years of age
