Equestrian Studies @ The Woods

2009 Pinto World Championship Horse Show

William Woods University riders, coached by Jennie Petterson, took two horses and two riders to the 2009 Pinto World Show. They were joined there by three other William Woods students and an incoming freshman who showed their own personal horses. The group took 34 Top Ten titles, including 5 Reserve World Championships and 4 World Championships.

Kristen Asher and Purely Zip 'N Rock were unanimous World Champions in Novice Youth Western Showmanship.

Sarah Slutz and Ima Cuervo Cowboy earned a Top Ten in Novice Amateur Western Pleasure.

Katie Hudson and her own horse, LA Cochise, won Reserve World Champion in Open Western Pleasure - Pleasure Type.

Frankie Hart also rode LA Cochise to a World Championship in Jr. Amateur English Equitation and a Reserve World Championship in Amateur Western Pleasure - Pleasure Type.

Kate VanBenthuysen and her horse My Patriots Hightime won two Top Tens in the youth division and Jennie also rode "Patriot" to a Top Ten finish in Open Hunter Under Saddle - 2 & 3 Year Old.

Incoming freshman, Jessie Brunelle, also did very well at the World Show, she earned the High Point title for the Youth Miniature Division and was Third Runner Up for the Miss Pinto America competition.
