Missouri Dressage Classic

Maggie O’Leary and Raphaelo (Rizzo) won the Show Me State Games Gold Medal in the Training Level Jr/YR division, and also were overall show champions in their division. Maggie and Rizzo earned two scores of 72% (a very high score for a dressage test!) and earned their second qualifying score for the USDF Regional Dressage Championships. They also won high-score Hanoverian for the show!

Laura Weatherspoon and Sylvester earned the bronze medal in the Show Me State Games for Training Level Amateur Adult, and were reserve champions for the division. Laura and Sylvester also earned their second qualifying score for the regional championships.

Jamie Large had ridden Lamborghini (Sport) only a few times before taking him to the Missouri Dressage Classic, and came home with high ribbons in each of their classes. Sport can be a tricky horse at a show, but he was a perfect gentleman for Jamie.

Kaitlyn McIlvaine took L.A. Hardway, a new addition to the WWU dressage string, to good ribbons at First Level. L.A., while new to the dressage string, is a seasoned campaigner and had the distinction of being the oldest horse, at age 24, at the show.

Morgan Williams rode her own horse, Sahara’s Starr, to blues at Third Level and earned the final score necessary to earn her USDF Bronze Medal.

Trainer Karen Pautz coached several outside (non-college) horses and riders at the show, and can now brag that one of those riders earned the almost unheard of score of 81%.
