WWU Students and Horses Come Home from Pinto Congress Victorious
The Pinto Horse Association Congress and Futurity Horse Show was once again good to the William Woods University horses and riders. Jennie Petterson, William Woods Western Instructor took three horses and four students to this year's show. Over the four days, they captured three Congress Championships, six Reserve Championships and the Reserve High Point Award for the Novice Amateur division.
Kate Goodall, a sophomore from Iowa City, IA and WWU horse, Ultimate Investment, AKA "Snoozer" won the Congress Championship in Novice Amateur Showmanship and also the Reserve High Point Novice Amateur. They also took 3rd in Novice Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation, 5th in Novice Amateur English Pleasure, Novice Amateur Western Pleasure and Novice Amateur Horsemanship.
Cassy Giske, a freshman at William Woods and "Snoozer" also took 5th in Novice Youth Trail and 6th in Novice Youth Hunt Seat Equitation.
Frankie Hart, a junior from Lee's Summit, MO and WWU horse, Purely Zip 'N Rock, AKA "Pride" won Congress Champion Jr. Amateur Showmanship, along with Reserve Congress Champion Amateur Hunter Type Halter, Jr. Amateur Disciplined Rail Western and English, and Ideal Pinto Western and English. They also took 4th in Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation, and 5th in AmateurEnglish Showmanship.
Caitlin Ferguson, a junior from Las Cruces, NM and WWU horse, ImaCuervo Cowboy, AKA "Wally" won Congress Champion Open Breeding Stock English Pleasure and Reserve Congress Champion Breeding Stock Western Pleasure.
A William Woods student, Kate VanBenthuysen and her own horse, My Patriots Hightime, AKA "Patriot",
won Reserve Congress Champion Open Two-Year-Old English Pleasure and Sr. Youth English Pleasure. They also took 3rd in the English Two-Year-Old Slot Class and 6th in Sr. Youth Ideal Pinto English.
