Students had the opportunity to attend a conference in April last spring to see Dave Pelzer, author of "A Child Called It" "The Lost Boy" and "A Man Named Dave." We took 22 students to St. Louis to listen to him speak about child abuse and his recovery.  The entire Child Abuse class, along with other social work students attended along with George Garnder and director Elizabeth Wilson. George stayed for the entire 3 day conference and we sent 3 social work students to the 3 day training. The rest of us went up on the last day to hear Mr. Pelzer speak.
