Social Work @ The Woods

Director's Welcome

Elizabeth

Welcome!

If you decide to major in Social Work you will be joining an exciting career with other professional social workers that strive to understand and help individuals and society as a whole. In this field you can work with individuals, groups/families, and the community though a variety of settings such as health care agencies, children’s services, family service agencies, corrections, state and other government social service programs, aging, and industry.

The Council on Social Work Education has accredited our program since 1987. Accreditation means we can offer the Bachelors in Social Work, B.S.W. The B.S.W. is a recognized degree that will open many doors for you as you proceed with your career.

One of the advantages of majoring in social work at William Woods University is the 500-hour senior internship. Fulton, Missouri and the surrounding area have a wealth of social agencies that offer excellent on the job learning for social work majors during their senior year.

I hope you enjoy surfing our web page and learning more about the Social Work Program at William Woods University. I encourage you to contact me directly and come for a visit to our campus so you can meet us and find out more about our program.
