What internships/jobs have you had?

I'm currently a chapter assistant in my sorority, along with working part time at phone-a-thon on campus and at the YMCA here in Fulton.

What are your career plans?

Someday I would love to be an independent photographer with my own small business, but until I get there I'm hoping to work with any kind of digital media in a position either working with photography or social media.

Why did you come to William Woods?

I came to William Woods for the equestrian program, but ended up wanting to pursue an art degree instead.

What is one word you’d use to describe William Woods?

Diverse; I have had the opportunity to meet such a wide variety of people during my time here.

What has been your favorite class here so far? Why?

My favorite class here so far is one that I'm currently taking: Business Communications with Professor Melissa Alpers-Springer. Melissa is a really engaging teacher, and the content I've learned in the class will be valuable going into the business world after graduation.

What has been your favorite LEAD event so far?

My favorite LEAD event so far was the mentalist, Chris Carter, that we had on campus during Woods 101.

What’s one thing you wish you had known when you first started at William Woods?

I wish I would have known all of the opportunities that are available to me. Even now as a sophomore, I learn every day about new ways to grow myself through campus resources.

What is your favorite thing in your room?

My favorite thing in my room is a blanket that my mom crocheted for me and gave me before I moved to school. I'm from out of state, so it's nice to be able to have a little piece of my family here with me even though I can't go home often.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the McNutt Campus Center, better known as the dome. If you're wondering where I am, I'm probably there doing homework!

Where do you like to study?

If I'm studying for a big test, I like to camp out in the living room of my sorority house because I probably have at least one sister who is also in that class. I would recommend getting together with someone to study because it holds you accountable!

What is a typical weekday like for you at William Woods?

I have classes every weekday, but am usually finished by 5. On days where I get out of class earlier, I go work a few hours at the YMCA. Then, most evenings, I'm either on CA duty, doing Alpha Phi stuff, or just spending time with friends.

What is your favorite place in Fulton?

My favorite place in Fulton is Lulu's. Froyo. Nuff said.

What has surprised you the most about going to school at William Woods?

What surprised me the most about going to school at William Woods is how great the Greek life here is. I wouldn't be the person I am today without having the opportunities my sorority has given me.

What has been the most challenging part of college?

The most challenging part of college for me is staying informed on world events. It's great to meet students from so many different backgrounds, but since we don't need to leave campus for much, it can be hard to remember what's going on outside of your bubble here.

What is one word your friends would use to describe you?

Trustworthy; They know that I can keep a secret like no other, and that if one of them needs me, I'll be there in a heartbeat.

What is your favorite memory of your time here at William Woods so far?

My favorite memory of my time here at Wiliam Woods is when my best friend and I went out onto Senior Lake in a paddle boat.. Long story short, we're lucky that we made it back to shore without the help of a rescue team.

Who is your favorite faculty or staff member?

My favorite faculty is the Tucker Dining Hall staff as a whole, can't pick just one! Whenever I stop to talk to one of them, they're always kind and genuinely want to know how I'm doing.

What is your superpower?

My superpower is procrastination. That may sound like a bad thing, but I'm thankful that I'm able to produce quality work in a situation where I'm under pressure to meet a deadline.
